For a place that is named what it is, you would assume we went here for their clam chowder… but we did not. Instead we got the plate with all fried seafood.
They even advertise that they are the original sourdough bowl (we got clam chowder in a bowl from some other stall… very goopy, our mistake).
We were originally going to get the fish and chips or calamri, but the lady at the counter suggested we get the seafood platter since it had everything. It came with fried fish, fried calamari, fried shrimp, and fries.
Of the seafood, the shrimp was my favourite as it was butterflied and juicy; the calamari was my friend’s favourite as she said it was very fresh. We both agreed the fish was a bit bland, and that the real star were their steak-cut fries.
Overall, good food for a good price, but I wonder if it would have the same success if it were not at Pier 39. Definitely will try the chowder next time.
