Our first night in the Bay Area, we stayed near SFO at a place in Millbrae. Before we left, I looked up places to eat nearby, and saw Millbrae Pancake House had both good reviews and appealing photos, so onto the list it went.
We ventured in early on a Wednesday morning and there were only a couple other tables occupied, so we were seated immediately. The interior is very spacious, but some reviews do say that lines form during breakfast times, presumably on weekends.
The menu is pretty standard, but what caught out eye was the special on the sign in the front; pecan pancakes with eggs and choice of meat, for $6.99. We decided to share as it was pretty early and we were trying to dine on a budget (after being burned at the airport… but let’s not talk about that).
I have to say I’m generally not a pancake eater – I’m usually stuffed after one. This was no different, but the pancake was fluffy and delicious. It had pecans throughout as well as sprinkled on the top, and came with the biggest scoop of whipped butter I’ve ever seen.
The eggs and sausages were standard, but we were stuffed by the time and barely finished our pancakes.
Highly recommend if you’re in the area! Great atmosphere and great bang for your buck.
