We went here for brunch on a Saturday morning, and made a reservation through OpenTable (already a plus in my books to have this option). The restaurant is tucked away in the corner, but the bright yellow sign definitely helps.
They offer prix fixe menu options, which is add a drink and dessert to your order) for $20. We ordered the Eggs Florentine (not actually vegetarian; this one comes with smoked salmon) and the Crab Cakes Benedict with the prix fixe.
The Eggs Florentine were good, traditional poached eggs on an English muffin, and were done well.
The Crab Cakes Benedict substitutes the cakes for the English muffin and the meat, and comes with poached eggs, Hollandaise, and a sprinkling of chives. They mentioned pico de gallo being on top, but there were very few tomatoes to be seen.
The crab cakes were crisp on the outside and stuffed with crab on the inside. I do wish there was a little more hollandaise sauce, but the flavour of the crab cakes alone was perfect. The sm’hash browns were also similarly crispy on the outside and well-seasoned.
We were really full after the meal, so we ordered a lighter option for dessert. The chocolate mousse was delicious; light but creamy, and not too rich.
Definitely will be back again to try more on the menu; would recommend for a nice brunch place in Markham.
