Update: As of December 2015, Moo Milk Bar has closed.
I’ve been wanting to go to the beach all summer, and the one day we chose to go, it was frigid and had the beginnings of rain. So after skipping rocks for awhile, we decided to head over to Moo Milk Bar for some cheering-up.
Moo Milk Bar
Location: 1918A Queen St E
Hours: Monday: Closed
Tuesday to Thursday: 11am to 7pm

It took us a very long time to decide what we wanted, and I finally went with the Milk & Cookie combo for $5, and got the vanilla bean milk with a toffee bits cookie. I liked the subtle aftertaste of vanilla when you drank the milk, but it was quickly overshadowed by the sweetness of the cookie. The cookie was the best kind of chewy cookie, thin, and with small toffee bits as to not be too sticky. It rightfully earned its place as one of their bestsellers.
My friend got the chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream sammie for $5, and while it was delicious, I would definitely suggest this as an item to share, unless you really love your cookie dough.
The rest of the group all got ice cream sandwiched between cookies, and pictured at the top of the post is the peanut butter chocolate chip and salted caramel chocolate cookies, the Campfire S’mores sammie, and the full ice cream sammie with banana chocolate chip and oatmeal coconut chocolate chip cookies sandwiching birthday cake ice cream. Thankfully the ridiculously long names describe the cookies pretty accurately.
Somewhat ironically, we overheard the staff talking about their competition Bang Bang… So if we must compare, I do prefer the cookies at Moo Milk Bar but the ice cream at Bang Bang is more inventive and win in that category.
I definitely want to go back to get a box of cookies and some banana milk. This place would be a great place to grab treats for an potluck or party, and they have a lot more on offer besides milk and cookies.
