Korean Food Express is one of the many offerings of the First Markham Place food court, and its a good one. The staff are very friendly and the lady working there offered to make the food to suit our tastes.

Everything is pretty reasonably priced, and made-to-order. We ordered the ddukbokki ($6.95), the jjajangmyun ($6.95), and the samgyetang ($8.95). My friend asked for the ddukbokki to have just a touch of spice, and she definitely delivered – it was more sweet with no spice at all but still delicious. The jjajangmyun noodles are thinner than I’m used to but well-made, and beat lots of restaurant versions I’ve had here. The samgyetang was a bit too salty but the chicken was tender and fell right off the bone. Each of these dishes came with side dishes, soup or rice, and a cup of tea.
We thought we were still hungry so we ordered a seafood pancake ($8.95) as well, and it was crisp on the outside with a delicious meaty interior with generous amounts of seafood, but it proved to be too much and left us extremely stuffed.
I enjoyed the meal and will definitely be back.
