When you enter, the counter is manned by several employees who form an assembly-line to create your pizza – you choose the type you want from make your own, their advertised creations, salad-topped, or even a simple one-topping pizza for a discounted price. You can choose everything from the sauces, cheese, meat, veggies, and seasoning before you head over to pay. Then they fire up your pizza and you can add a final drizzle before you pick up your pizza.
The first pizza I made consisted of classic and spicy sauce, mozzarella and goat cheese, and was topped with Italian sausage, chicken, spinach, red onions, carmelized onions, roasted peppers and finished with a balsamic drizzle. I was tempted to cram more items on it, but I wanted it to taste like a cohesive blend – and it was so delicious! The thin crust was crisp and everything had meshed together to create the sweet and savoury flavour combo I love. I think when you pile a little too much toppings on, it can make the pizza a bit soggy so do keep that in mind.
There is ample seating available for those wanting to sit, and the table turnover is pretty quick. There are employees who walk around cleaning tables and making sure your meal is to your liking. I love self-service cafes and restaurants and am glad to see more popping up in Toronto.
