We were in search of a brunch place to continue our monthly brunch sessions back when Pig was still in Toronto; we decided on Saving Grace without much expectation.
We headed there early and was surprised to see a line of about fifteen people already there; the restaurant opened and the small space filled up quickly.
We went with the specials on their menu board – poached eggs on navy beans with kale and chorizo and the open omelette with carmelized apples, onions, and brie.
I have to say I’m not a huge breakfast/brunch fan; I get tired of the options fairly quickly and the food lacks enough variety for me to crave it often. But the offerings at Saving Grace were so different and well-thought out that I immediately knew I loved this place. Our overall favourite was definitely the omelette – it was the perfect of sweet, savoury, and creamy goodness that hit all the right spots.
Just make sure you’re there early, or at least willing to wait. It is a little difficult to catch the wait staff’s attention, but otherwise I enjoyed my experience here. I’ll definitely be back!
