One of my favourite types of cake has to be the chiffon cake; so when QuirkyAesthetics suggested stopping by Little Pebbles for some cake, I readily agreed.
Located in Kensington Market, they have a sign outdoors advertising coffee and Japanese desserts that certainly captured the attention of many passer-bys.

The interior was bright and adorned with colourful art and plants. I decided to order the black sesame chiffon cake, and she ordered the strawberry roll cake with a latte.
The chiffon cake was light and airy, but the sesame flavour still shone through. I appreciated the whipped cream that added to each bite. This really made me determined to try more chiffon cake recipes.
I stopped by again a few days later and tried the creme brûlée affogato; not being an espresso fan, I was pleasantly surprised by the combination and the small bites of cake definitely made the dish more interesting.
Little Pebbles is an adorable spot with unique selections that are rare to come by in Toronto. There is limited seating available so its not made to be a study spot, but is great for take-out of grabbing a quick bite to eat.
