We had a bit of time before our train, so we decided to spend some time at a cafe instead of lugging our bags around town.
Starbucks and Second Cup were just down the street, but we decided to try a more local cafe.
A five minute walk from Vendôme Station, The Standard was located at the corner of Sherbrooke and Vendôme.
The interior was dark and filled with single couches and side tables, and a bar stools lined the table for those wishing for desk space.
The baristas were friendly and explained the different preparation techniques for coffee orders to my friend. A glass case displayed their baked goods, but as I was still full from our brunch, I opted for a matcha latte.
The latte was prepared well, and the matcha was smooth flavourful. It was a very relaxing stay, and Wi-Fi made it possible to get some work done. A patron brought in their furry friend and stayed awhile – it seemed to be a regular occurrence, and made for a more interesting experience.
