I like a very specific type of doughnut – the soft, pillowy yeast ones are by far my favourite. While I have found favourites across the world, I was itching for a more accessible favourite, and when I first laid eyes on the doughnuts from Dipped, I had high hopes.

A small bakery with a counter facing the streets of Kensington Market, Dipped Donuts is easy to miss if devoid of customers staring at the rows of glazed rings behind the window.
During our first visit, Dan and I decided to go a bit crazy and got one of each doughnut available.
Sadly, the fruit varieties I prefer were all out of stock, so I kept my eye out for when they brought back the fruit varieties, and later, the Simpson doughnut.
Dipped has beautifully soft doughnuts with a fair amount of glaze, though it does run a bit sweet, sometimes masking the flavour. They sell out incredibly quickly, so do stop by early if you want your options.
