I don’t know anyone in Canada that seriously calls it boba – it’s known as bubble tea here, so it was obvious how uniquely American this brand is.
When I first visited the Bay Area is 2014, my friend had recommended that I go here; but time constraints and lack of seriousness in trying different bubble tea led it to be forgotten. This past summer, my friend added it to our itinerary for San Francisco, and off we went in search of one during our one day in San Francisco.
Who knew our most ridiculous meal would be in Portland? After a morning of pancakes, doughnuts, and hiking, we were famished and ready for food. A quick search of the area showed that Brunch Box, contrary to their name, was famous for their burgers, so we decided to pay them a visit.
In the Okanagan, there is a breakfast place that everyone talks about – The Jammery. Featured on the Food Network’s You Gotta Eat Here!, you can find it off Highway 97 North. Our friend took us here on our first full day in the valley, and at around 9am, it was bustling with activity and we were told to wait for about half an hour.
I always liked Korean BBQ, but when we went to Seoul in 2015 and had charcoal BBQ, it was honestly life-changing. I have had intense cravings for charcoal KBBQ ever since that sadly went unfulfilled in Canada.
When we roamed the West Coast in August 2016, my friend decided we should try Korean BBQ in Los Angeles, and found a place online. We decided to go on our second night to try Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong.
