Lombardi’s Coal Oven Pizza

Margherita Pizza

We knew while in New York City, we had to go try some pizza. Our choice was narrowed down purely on location (we were either going to be Grimaldi’s or Lombardi’s, as those had the best reviews and in the areas we were headed to), but ultimately, the line at Grimaldi’s was deterrent enough.

Shake Shack

I had heard so many good things about Shake Shack and their amazing burgers but surprisingly not that many reviews about their milkshakes, which you would assume is the star. When we went to New York, we knew we had to hunt one down. As Grand Central was a place we were going to stop by on the way, we headed to the Shake Shack in the dining concourse.

Argo Tea

Ginger green tea and Earl Grey vanilla creme

We stumbled across Argo Tea while walking to find a pharmacy. As a result, half of us ventured in while the others walked to the Duane Reade down the street. We meant to just walk in to check out their arrangement of loose leaf teas for sale, but got roped into getting a few drinks.

Dough

Hibiscus doughnut

We were walking around Smorgasburg at Brooklyn Bridge Park, and came across this doughnut stand. With a variety of yeast doughnuts with amazing toppings, the hibiscus one caught our eye due to its bright magenta-red icing… and it did not disappoint. We just tried one doughnut and it was enough for me to know that this is probably the best doughnut I’ve ever had.

The Wangding and the Mel & Steve
The Wangding and the Mel & Steve

Spent this past weekend in New York (the first official out-of-the-country trip we planned by ourselves!) and took it upon ourselves to visit Smorgasburg at Brooklyn Bridge Park.

First up,  Asiadog. The name describes it all; hot dogs with asian-inspired toppings.
