As the winter wears on, my cravings for warm and comforting food seem to be endless.

Einspänner
As a self-proclaimed non-coffee drinker for years, I have slowly started taking a liking to the process of making coffee and espresso drinks, as exhibited by the last few homecafe recipes. One drink in particular caught my eye in Seoul cafes, and reminded me of the Viennese coffee we had a few years prior; sure enough, it was indeed an Einspänner.
Fresh Orange Latte
During our last visit to Seoul, I had an orange latte at Bunkasha. The return of warm weather and in-season oranges brought up my determination to recreate it.
Jolly Pong Latte & Crush
I am not much of a breakfast cereal eater, but certain cereal-topping drinks have caught both my love and attention. Jolly Pong (죠리퐁) is one such cereal, with a light, crisp exterior and airy interior, and I often found myself finishing a bag within a sitting.
Coffeesmith
On our last day in Busan, the rain decided to greet us with a plentiful arrival. Our original plans for outdoor activities were scrapped, and we decided to take it easy and walk to a local juk place for lunch.
Avec El
I had seen beautiful photos of lattes topped with a slice of fruit, and even attempted my own throughout the years. As we were planning our latest trip to Seoul, I decided to hunt down the original cafe that served these lattes.

Iced Matcha Rose Latte
Lately, with lemons
I have been on a weird cooking and baking kick for the last few weeks. It has mostly subsided now, but I made a lot of sweets that largely went undocumented. The one day that I actually retrieved my camera is pictured below; Meyer lemons and their offspring.
The sweet hybrid of lemon and mandarin is ideal for lemon desserts – less sugar is needed and I find the flavour of the zest to be more aromatic.
A dried Meyer lemon slice adorning the top of my latte made from the Pickwick Dutch tea, which is the greatest black tea complement for citrus. Continue reading Lately, with lemons
Funky Munky Cafe
I was on the hunt for a place to work after dinner on a Tuesday night, and found Funky Munky Cafe. I wasn’t looking for bubble tea, but imagine my surprise when I walked in to find that they offered bubble tea in addition to coffee and tea.
